Hey church family, it's brother James. Just wanted to give you a quick update on what we're doing at First Baptist Lafayette. I know that during this time of a Corona surge, that everybody's getting a little antsy and a little bit nervous. And there are two ways to operate with this. One is living by fear. One's living by faith. And at First Baptist, we wanna make sure we're living by faith. And we're gonna keep meeting, we're gonna keep worshiping. We're gonna do everything that we can do, given what's going on, but we need your help.
We have set some protocols in place to provide a level of safety here at our church, and we need you to help us with that. So a few things that we've done, we have some hand sanitizer stations throughout the building. We have updated our bathrooms with some touchless fixtures. We have separated the pews out. We've marked pews, every other Pew, where people can sit and where they can't sit. We've got some entrances that are entrance only, and some places that are exit only, we wanna limit our two-way walking down the aisles. And so we got a number of things in place.
One of the big things that we have is we know that people are on different ends of the spectrum when it comes to masks. And so one of the things we wanna do is we wanna make it safe and comfortable for those who want to wear mask and for those that don't necessarily wanna wear masks. So what we have in our worship center are two sections here in the back. I'm standing in front of one of those, that are mask only sections. And we have these for you to come and to have your mask on. And they're gonna wear their masks as they're coming in, they're gonna wear their masks during the entire service. And we're gonna ask people to do that and to keep the integrity of this section.
We also have our second floor balcony open and people are sitting there even this last week and there are less people there. So you're able to spread out some more and really get a more airy feel up there. And we wanna encourage you to use that as well. We have a few other protocols as well. We just want you to be safe. We want you to be comfortable. We want you to worship and we want to see you Sunday morning.
