Disaster Relief After Hurricane Laura

There are several ways you can help with recovery efforts in Southwest Louisiana following Hurricane Laura. These include:

  • the donation of cleaning supplies,
  • a monetary contribution to assist with various needs,
  • volunteering for a day or more to help with the cleanup and relief efforts, and
  • by praying for all affected by the hurricane and for those who assist in the relief efforts.

Cleaning Supplies

We are currently accepting the following cleaning supplies: Mop, Broom, 1-gallon pump sprayer, Bleach ½ gallon, 5 gal bucket, Rags, Brush for cleaning, Soap, Rubber gloves, Hand sanitizer, Lysol or Pine-Sol. You can bring these items to the church from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday or 8:00 a.m. - Noon Friday. Please enter through the Avenue B entrance. You can also bring them with you on Sunday.

These are the only items we are accepting now - other items will be added to the list at a later date.

All donated items will be sent to Lake Charles and surrounding areas that were hardest hit by the storm. They will be distributed by Louisiana Baptist Disaster Relief.

I Can Help

Pray for those affected by Hurricane Laura, specifically for the families of the six people who died, for those who lost homes or businesses, for those who will spend hours restoring things to normal. Pray for those who assist in the recovery as well, that they will stay safe while helping. Pray also for the churches affected by the hurricane, as we know of many with serious damage. Pray for these congregations as they plan for meeting temporarily and as they look ahead to restoring or rebuilding their place of worship.
