Read the Bible for Life

God inspired the biblical writers to use a variety of literary types, including stories, poetry, proverbs, parables, and others. Read the Bible for Life teaches believers how to read the various types of biblical literature in a way that unlocks God's intended meaning, enabling them to accurately interpret the Bible and appropriately apply its teachings to life. Read the Bible for Life provides tools and a process for ongoing, life-changing training that equips people to understand this grand story and how its various parts fit together. Once people understand the story of Scripture, they can better understand how they fit into that story. Author, George Guthrie.

Joshua, Judges, and Ruth (PRECEPT)

Joshua - Conquering Your Enemies- God said, "Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed." Increase your faith in God who has put you in His grip and will never let you go! Judges - Driving Out Your Enemies - Nothing has changed from the days of the Judges - people still do what is right in their own eyes. Absolutes are shoved aside and the result is bondage to sin. Only God's truths and moral principles bring peace and freedom from bondage. Ruth - Don't Despair. There's Hope. You Have a Kinsman Redeemer! - In the Old Testament, this buyer-defender known as a "kinsman-redeemer" was usually a close relative. If you're a believer, you already have one - Jesus Christ! This rich study shows how Jesus both bought us (redeemer) and advocates (defends) for us, offering us an opportunity to rebuild our broken lives. Author, Kay Arthur.

Trustworthy: Overcoming Our Greatest Struggles to Trust God

Are you exhausted trying to keep everything under control because you fear God won’t come through? When hard times come and it seems God is deviating from the plan we assume our life should follow, we’re much more likely to want to tame God, not trust Him. It’s then that we begin to press into our own ways and our own timing. No human can carry the weight of being their own god, but so many of us try. Through this study of 1 and 2 Kings, you’ll learn to: Loosen the grip of trying to control people and circumstances in your life by taking steps today to truly rely on God; Identify your own trust issues with God and how to overcome them by unpacking pivotal, relevant life lessons from the kings of the Old Testament; Find relief from fear or doubt about how things will turn out with 10 scriptural truths you can declare over your situation right now. Author, Lysa TerKeurst.

Begins Thursday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m. - For Women Only

Abide: A Study of 1, 2, 3 John

Different than other studies, it will not cover a specific topic from all angles. It will not have poetry or stories that leave you laughing, crying, or inspired. It will not focus on answering the question “What does the Bible say about me?” It will not aid you in self-discovery, at least not as its primary intent. What it will do is teach you an important passage of the Bible in a way that will stay with you for years to come. It will challenge you to move beyond loving God with just your heart to loving Him with your mind. It will focus on answering the question “What does the Bible say about God?” It will aid you in the worthy task of God- discovery. Author, Jennifer Wilkin.

Begins Thursday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m. - For Women Only
