Thank you for your interest in Discipleship Groups at First Baptist Lafayette. Online Registration is now closed and books have been ordered. However, you may still register at the first session of the group you'd like to participate in. At that time, we will only be able to accept cash or checks for book orders.

Jesus Among Secular Gods

As belief in the secular gods of atheism, hedonism, relativism, and humanism continues to grow, it’s more important than ever for believers to be able to defend and share the claims of Christ. This study helps seekers explore the claims of Christ and provides Christians with the knowledge to articulate their faith that Jesus stands tall above all other gods.

Sunday School for Leaders

This class not only provides a preview of the Sunday School lesson for the following Sunday but a Sunday School experience for those who are teaching and leading on Sunday mornings. There will be time for prayer, community building, and other class activities in addition to Bible study that addresses real-life issues. Adult lessons will be studied and teachers from all age groups are welcome.

Kingdom Man

FAITH Evangelism Training

FAITH is an evangelism training strategy linked directly to the ongoing work of the Sunday School, with a goal of each team visiting prospects and members of their Sunday School class. FAITH training will help you be able to communicate five simple truths about the gospel to anyone at any time.

Materials provided—Orientation meal and information on Tuesday, August 20 at 6:00 p.m. Weekly sessions meet on Tuesday, beginning August 27 at 6:00 p.m.

In His Image

By exploring ten characteristics of who God is—holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise—this book helps us understand who God intends for us to be. Through Christ, the perfect reflection of the image of God, we will discover how God’s own attributes impact how we live, leading to freedom and purpose as we follow His will and are conformed to His image.

Disciples Path: The Life

Students will examine how disciples of Jesus imitate Him by immersing themselves in God’s Word, remaining connected to God through prayer, living in community with other believers, understanding how a spirit-filled life can lead to transformation, serving others for the advancement of His kingdom, and using their lives to spread the gospel into the world.

 The Case for Christ

 A seasoned journalist chases down the biggest story in history—is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the son of God? Retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools like Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis who are recognized authorities in their own fields.

CHILDREN: Bible Drill

Helps children in grades 1- 6 increase their knowledge of the Bible, develop skills in effectively handling the Bible, learn how to apply the Bible to their life, and to begin developing memory skills.

PRESCHOOL: Hide 'N Seek

Hide N’ Seek for preschoolers is based on Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Scripture memory, adventure games, and activities designed to discover the heartbeat of Our Creator God develop in each child a desire to please and run toward this heartbeat with total confidence of His unfailing love.
