Overcoming Prejudice

Listen to today's passage

The early church overcame personal prejudices with Samaritans and Gentiles that created an atmosphere for the advancement of the Gospel to these groups. Acts 8:4-24 describes the Gospel coming to the Samaritans while chapter 10 describes the barrier being broken down for the Gentiles. We must deal with our own prejudices in a similar way if we are going to reach everyone. James gave us this instruction in James 2:1, “My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.”

Before you close your Bible, notice the key verse in Acts 10:43. “All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” It has always been God’s plan that everyone who believes in Jesus would have a personal relationship with Him in this life and eternal life in the next life.
