We begin reading about a new era in the history of the Church in Acts 13. That new era is the missionary era. Remember our outline from Acts 1:8. Here begin the evangelistic efforts to the whole world.
Some are specifically set apart to depart. The whole church was set apart and the whole church was serving, but some were set apart. We must be careful to accept this. Accept those who go and accept those who do not feel called to go. I heard this good counsel while in Seminary—“Most are willing to go, but planning to stay. We must be planning to go, but willing to stay.”
Whatever God calls you to do, be faithful to do exactly that. Other people will try to get you to do what they are called to do, but we must remain faithful to do what we know God has called us to do.
