The interesting thing about our predicaments and God’s provision is that like the disciples, once we admit our inadequacies, Jesus usually includes us to “distribute the food.” That is, once we admit that we are powerless, He uses us. We must always remember, though, that all power is His, and not ours.
Just like us, the disciples had difficulty in learning this lesson. In Mark 8, the scene is much the same as in chapter 6. However, instead of 5,000 men, this time the assembly consisted of only 4,000 men. Having experienced Jesus’ power already, the disciples still ask, “But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?”
Oh God, forgive us when our faith in You is so weak?
