Use the map below to determine the best way to First Baptist Lafayette.

Where do I park?

Guest parking is directly across from Barry Street Entrance A.  For those who need to drop off passengers a covered drive-through is available in the parking lot on Avenue B (the side closest to University Avenue). This entrance is close to our preschool area.

Is there handicapped access?

There are handicapped parking spaces and ramped access in the parking lot on Avenue B, and there is street level access at Barry Street Entrance B.

What happens when I get there?

Our greeters will assist you with any questions you may have.  An Information Center is available just inside Barry Street Entrance A.  Attendants there can direct you to a Bible study class and other areas of our buildings.

Is there childcare available?

We have developmentally appropriate classes (birth thru Kindergarten)where even little ones learn about Jesus.  So that you may attend both a Bible study class and a worship service, this time is extended to a second hour for those birth through Kindergarten. During the 10:45 a.m. service 3-year-olds through Kindergarten attend a special worship time designed just for them. This is a perfect place where preschoolers can be noisy and have fun and not be distracting during the grown-up worship time.

What is the worship service like?

Services generally last about one hour. Our 8:15 a.m. worship service is piano and organ led with a small vocal ensemble, and features hymns and traditional elements.  The 10:45 a.m. service includes choir, orchestra, band and Praise Team, with more modern musicThe 10:45 a.m. service is interpreted for the deaf. The same Bible-based sermon is usually presented at both morning worship services. If you would like to hear messages online you can visit our sermon archive.

How do I become a member of First Baptist Lafayette?

At the end of the pastor's message, he will invite those who would like to become part of our church family to come forward.  We sing a song during this time so that people can come to the front and talk to one of our ministers about their needs.

If you would like to become a part of First Baptist Church you can do so:

  • By profession of faith - if you are not yet a Christian but would like to be, or if you are a Christian and have never been baptized by immersion as a believer, our minister will pray with you and guide you in this decision.
  • By transfer of letter - If you are a Christian and a member of another church we will write to that church and request that a letter of transfer is sent.
  • By statement - If you are a Christian and have been baptized as a believer, but do not have a current membership in another church, we can receive your membership on affirmation of the above.
We look forward to seeing you at First Baptist Lafayette.
